How do I shop the online Fire Sale?

  • After browsing available merchandise, feel free to add an item to your cart and complete the online "check-out" process. You will notice that there is nowhere to enter payment information -- payment must be completed in person, in room 714 on 7 floor of Sullivan.  During this specialty Fire Sale, items will only be available for pickup on September 14 and 16 from 3:30 - 6:30. 


How to pick up my order?

  • Pick up is only available September 14 and 16 from 3:30 - 6:30. You will sign up for a 15 min appointment. The link will be shared with you in the order confirmation email. 
  • We can only offer 3 people every 15 min for pick up. These appointments are first come first serve. Once spots are filled you will have to choose the next available time. We can not sell to you until it is the time you signed up for. 


The listing doesn't list size or shape? 

  • Each listing acts as a placeholder for one of the 52 dress forms available. At your scheduled pickup, you'll choose from the dress forms on hand. We can't guarantee a specific one.


What if I end up not wanting any of the dress forms that are left?

  • If you decide during your pick time that you do not want any of the dress forms that are available to you. Please let us know and we can cancel your order. 


What if I haven’t picked my dress form after 15 min?

  • We'll let you know when your 15 minutes are up. If you haven't chosen a dress form yet, you're welcome to stay and keep looking but the next group will be let in while you're still there.


How can I pay?

  • Fire Sale purchases must be made with ARTICard ONLY.


Is there tax?

  • Sales tax is included in the item's list price.


Is there an order limit?

  • YES. For now, you will only be allowed to purchase one item at a time. Orders with more than one item are subject to cancellation. If you would like to purchase more please contact [email protected] before submitting your order. 
  • You have to take your purchases when you pay for them. Material source will not hold onto purchased items and is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. 

Can Alumni of SAIC purchase from Fire Sale? 

  • For purchasing Fire Sale equipment you have to have a valid alumni card to do so as we only take ARTICard as payment.
  • Fire Sale can not guarantee building access to alumni with their alumni id
  • Please refer to the alumni benefits here https://www.saic.edu/alumni/benefits-resources. 

The equipment I purchased was broken when I got home, can I return it?

  • All sales are final. The equipment has been inspected, as noted in the item's description. However, as it is mostly old and heavily used, anything can happen. Returns are not permitted.
  • Do not go to the Media Center or Material Source with any issues. They do not run the sale.
